From Shimizu Port, you can visit several tourist attractions as a day tour. We use a car driven by a professional driver or the guide himself. Generally price is lower if the guide drives the car.

Places of interests from Shimizu Port

There are two major destinations. One is Shizuoka area. This area is not very far so it is recomendable for those who have limited time. Another one is Mt. Fuji area. It is a little bit far, especially if you like to visit the northern side of Mt. Fuji.

You should avoid the Mt. Fuji on bad weather days as you cannot see the mountain.

Shizuoka Area

The Shizuoka Area includes the Shizuoka Castle, Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, Mihono Matsubara (Mt. Fuji view point), etc.

Kunozan Toshogu is a shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu in Shizuoka City. According to Ieyasu’s will, he was initially buried at Kunouzan. After Ieyasu’s death, the second shogun, Hidetada built the shrine, and completed in 1617. The shrine pavilions, decorated with gorgeous Momoyama-era ornaments, were built 19 years earlier than Nikko Toshogu. It is a national treasure as a representative structure of the early Edo period.

Mt. Fuji Area

The Fuji Area includes Shiraito-no-taki Fall, Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center (museum), Fuji-san Hongu Sengen Shrine, etc.

Local cuisine
